As a Senior Advisor for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), I support the Digital Healthcare Research (DHR) Program by identifying and cultivating a new generation of digital healthcare innovation and discovery. I serve as a representative on many federal and non-federal workgroups and task-forces, and committees in support of initiatives and topics ranging from advancing health data and data standards; artificial intelligence; decision support; health equity; primary care and rural health; and telehealth and virtual care.

As a Scientific Program Manager within the Office of Research and Development's Health Research Services and Development, I oversee the Healthcare Informatics Portfolio. The goal is to advance the use of health information and communications technology in patient care and clinical research, personal health management, public and population health, and translational science with the ultimate objective of improving veteran health.

As a member of the Scientific Advancement Branch, I support and advise ONC’s Senior Leadership on current ONC programs and activities, while also serving as a program officer and contractor’s representative on several key initiatives including the following:Innovation: • I co-lead ONC’s Leading Edge Acceleration Projects (LEAP) in Health IT program, addressing complex challenges in the development, use, and/or advancement of well-designed, interoperable health IT while advancing a new generation of health IT development.• I co-led ONC’s efforts to understand the development, testing and use of artificial intelligence in health and health care. Precision Medicine:• I administer ONC's efforts to support the Precision Medicine Initiative’s cornerstone program to collect data on one million participants via the National Institutes of Health’s All of Us Research Program. Specifically I oversee several projects and collaborations including Sync for Science, Sync for Genes, and Advancing Standards for Precision Medicine (sensor and wearable data, social determinants of health). These projects are meant to enable a new era of medicine through research, technology, and policies which empower patients, researchers, and providers to work together toward the development of individualized careResearch:• I co-lead ONC’s Policy and Development Agenda to advance the nation’s health IT infrastructure over the next 3 to 5 years in support of advancements in biomedical and health services research. Simply put, the activities I support are meant to drive a health information ecosystem where information sharing for care and research, happens faster, better, easier, and improves outcomes.

Served as the Program Coordinator for the Medicare Flex Program, housed in the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP) at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). I work with multiple stakeholders and state designated entities for rural health in an effort to improve the quality of care and financial stability for 1300+ critical access hospitals.

Served as the Health IT Portfolio liaison for aging and long term care related issues and Program Official for the Active Aging Research Center;Federal Acquisition Certified Level III Contracting Officer's Representative (COR);large research contracts ($10M+) and a program official on research grants ($10M+);Assisted with concept development and creation of new funding opportunities and announcements (R01 Large Research Grants and Task Orders) in the domains of: Health IT; Care Practice Redesign; Knowledge Creation, Development and Sharing; Health IT Hazard Management; Clinical Decision Support.

Monitored 31 Federally Qualified Health Center portfolios, in Louisiana and Texas, accounting for approximately $20 million in Federal Construction Improvement and Facility Investment grants as a part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to improve our nation’s health infrastructure of underserved/disadvantaged areas;
