Current* Work with employers to help them get access to California’s Employment Training Panel (ETP) funding to assist them in upgrading the skills of their workers through training that leads to good paying, long-term jobs.* Coordinate the ParnossahWorksLA.org employment website - a FREE job website for employers/job seekers in the Greater Los Angeles area.* Work one-on-one with job seekers with little or no experience in the area of computer skills or internet skills needed for a successful job search. * Teach how to use Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the internet. Instruct job seekers to use job search web sites, such as Monster and CareerBuilder. * Teach computer fundamentals, such as; how to establish an e-mail account and use Yahoo Mail or Google Mail, how to save and retrieve files, how to upload resumes to on-line job applications. * Train job seekers to create and properly format resumes and cover letters. How to navigate the internet for job search related research. How to identify companies to target and to identify professional associations that may provide networking opportunities. How to find job openings using on-line social networking sites such as LinkedIn.
