I have worked in Higher Education for more than 20 years in a variety of roles. The common thread has been a constant effort to innovate and improve constituent service. My career started by leading an ERP implementation in which we re-engineered all aspects of the university. From there, I went on to create and implement a "One-stop-shop" for all student services. During this process we combined 13 different offices from seven different buildings into one single destination, all without adding budget dollars or headcount. For more than a decade I served as the Chief Information Officer at Abilene Christian University. During this time, ACU became the first school in the world to fully implement Google Apps for Education. We also launched ACU's Mobile Learning Initiative. As part of this initiative, we were again the first school in the world to provide mobile devices to each and every student and faculty member. Through this we were able to study and develop new pedagogies that leverage mobile technology. In addition to the CIO role, I have also had responsibility for the university's operations. This includes direct oversight of maintenance, landscape & grounds, construction and risk management. During this time we undertook the largest capital expansion in the University's history with construction of three new science facilities and two sports stadiums. I love the higher ed industry and have been intimately involved in every aspect of university life. I am excited that my role at Campus Management Corp allows me to continue to work in this industry that I love so much. Although there are tremendous changes ahead for higher ed over the next few years, I have never been more optimistic about the future. As our industry moves into the 21st century, I am convinced that our best days are ahead of us. It is a true blessing to be on the front lines of making that future a reality.
