The Chesterton Parks Department hosts a summer camp program from kids ages 5-15 from May until August. At the park, four other counselors and I would set up games for the kids, have special contests and prizes, and celebrate made up holidays once a week. This summer camp had over a hundred kids signed up with an average of about thirty coming per day. A great community was built between the children that came to the park. I learned a large deal about how to handle troubled and special needs kids.-Employed by the Parks Department to set up a summer program for kids-Managed over 30 kids every week day along with four other counselors

The Dunes National Lakeshore is a national park in northwest Indiana. In 2016, they celebrated their fifty year anniversary of being a national park. For the convention, the Chesterton debate program was asked to pick a speaker that would talk about the importance of the Dunes and its upkeep. I was chosen to give this speech by my debate coach. At the convention, I discussed erosion and how to prevent this natural process from harming our beautiful lakeshore.-Spoke on erosion affecting the Dunes and surrounding communities-Called for action with a plan to reduce the amount of off trail activity -Signposting and proper tour guide education was put into place
