About Kevin Kavanagh
After mostly retail positions in my teen years, I started with the IS Helpdesk at Libgo Travel (now known as Flight Centre USA) around the year 2000. Early on in my career, I worked in the Helpdesk at all support levels, I had a brief stint with USA.net in Colorado Springs, CO in spring 2002. I returned to Libgo travel to the IS Helpdesk as a Senior Analyst and also held a position with the desktop engineering team. After an opening in the IS Infrastructure team, I started on that team in 2007. As a mid-level system administrator I was responsible for the McAfee environment, Kbox, File server administration, and our Citrix environment. I became the Team Leader of the IS Helpdesk for FCUSA in the fall of 2009. In January of 2009 I took on a part time job with Lincoln Tech as a night instructor for their NCIS program. In 2010 I was 1 of 6 instructors from all campus locations, to be selected to the curriculum counsel that would look to improve the current curriculum to prepare our students for success. After a successful run as the Team Leader of the FCUSA Helpdesk, I moved back to the Infrastructure team in a new role in 2013. After a restructure in 2018, I became the Lead System Engineer of the Infrastructure team for the US as part of the Infrastructure Team for the Americas (Mexico, US, Canada). In October of 2020, I was promoted to the Head of Core Infrastructure for Flight Centre The Americas. In July of 2021 I accepted a promotion to Global Product Manager for Productivity & Collaboration. I am very proud of my career path and love to tell the story to others and help them with their journey.
