I am embarking on my MBA journey specializing in Data and IT Management following the completion of my second Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. My academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. Throughout my tenure in the Computer Science program, I acquired extensive proficiency in various programming languages, enabling me to develop a diverse array of applications. While Java development constituted a focal point, I also garnered expertise in languages such as C#, C++, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Swift, along with frameworks and technologies including React, Node.js, AWS, SQLite, and Selenium.I worked and lived abroad in Japan for three years. I team taught English as an ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) in Junior High School and Elementary school. I worked at one Junior high school where I taught 7th through 9th grade with around 300 students as well as two Elementary schools, 5th and 6th grade, with around 100 students each. I lived in a rural area of Japan where for some of my students I was the first foreigner they met. I enjoyed creating interesting and entertaining experiences and activities for my students that they may otherwise be unable to experience such traveling or special occasions in foreign countries. I believe it is important to have a good first impression with the students as well as leave a lasting impression. This way they have to desire to want to go to new places and try new things without being afraid of the unexpected. One of my main objectives in teaching English in Japan was showing what another culture they have never experienced had to offer and how it differs from their own. One way I did this was by holiday activities such as dressing up for my students on Halloween and making them hot apple cider. This engages the students interest and makes them more focused on the lesson when there is something fun and new for them to learn.Once a week for two years I tutored two girls who were in 3rd and 5th grade. Once a month I attended English Speaking Circle at the local University and spoke with college students in English. I also taught 3-5 year olds and their parents English once a month through themes and holidays. I participated in after school programs at my Junior High School where I played table tennis, basketball or other club activities with my students. I volunteered and helped with Shimane AJET which is a community support group for the region I was living in. The group assisted other ALT's and put on events to promote friendship between ALT's and the Japanese community.
