I focus on key issues of how creating economic opportunity, entrepreneurial ecosystems, and human capital issues affect regional economies both in the United States and globally. My key areas of focus are business and workforce climate issues, technology and entertainment, and how countries, regions, and states interact and compete in the world economy. In addition, I oversee portions of the annual Global Conference, numerous briefings, key engagements, and private roundtables.

I served chairman for the 2013 and 2014 calendar years after serving as vice-chair for 2011-2012 before my term limit was reached. I continue to serve as the principal liaison with the City of Los Angeles City Hall, and numerous key stakeholders.

The Department of Commerce created the Trade Finance Advisory Council, which produced a significant number of recommendations for the Department for developing more cohesive international trade strategies, with the particular emphasis of boosting US exports, particularly through new activity in the private sector. I officially became Chair as of February, 2018 with the authorization of the current council ending in August, 2022. In addition to recommendations to the US Department of Commerce, the council issued recommendations to the U.S. Small Business Administration, Export-Import Bank, and Federal Reserve.

Served as the principal coordinator and manager for evaluation and execution of the PC product division which had just been re-established. Established group features and functionality standards for all PC products, oversaw multiple teams of 30 to 40 employees, directly interacted with developers and licensors, and made decisions on new hires. In addition, established relations and standards with Apple upon initial publications of Macintosh platform titles.

As a professor, I taught multiple courses in Physical Geography, a non-lab science class, and Cultural Geography, a social sciences class focusing on the impact of physical geography, resources, and nationality on various countries in the global context and covered the impact of key issues such as global warming, resource shortages, and ethnic conflict. Developed all coursework, schedules, and exams from scratch, while ensuring requirements were met for the California State University System. Classes were consistently filled to a capacity of 60 students and included large numbers of foreign exchange students and working adults.
