COVID-19 transformed the social landscape and brought the need for personal protective equipment (PPE) into an unprecedented light. Recognizing an opportunity to help bridge the massive gap between supply and demand, EOS Light rolled out Project Life—a culmination of my ability to rapidly construct effective business models and my early career in disaster management.Leveraging the existing infrastructure of EOS Light, I evolved Project Life from a small emergency supply operation into EOS Armor—a fully sourced and branded PPE reseller operating as a separate business unit within EOS Light and serving communities across America.EOS Armor required every aspect of a rich business development skillset and well-rounded business model to succeed. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗻𝗮𝗽𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁:Built eCommerce site connected to CRM and inventory management systems in just 6 days.Assembled 35-person remote sales force within 2 weeks to sustain rapid growth and meet customer demand.Delivered over 300K masks, 10K face shields, and thousands of gloves and sanitizers within 3 weeks of launch. I started out in LED with only the most rudimentary knowledge of how the lighting industry worked, but I recognized the market opportunity and knew it was only a matter of time before the bubble burst. As a quick study capable of thinking on my feet, I set my mind to learning all I could about the industry before that happened by attending conferences, university workshops, and hiring outside consultants.I applied my knowledge and bootstrapped IOS, reinvesting sales revenue to sustainably grow the business. It is one of two primary firms trusted by FEMA to provide post-disaster inspections. As a home inspector, I assessed property damage after natural disasters, namely Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Wilma, Hurricane Gustav, and the Rancho Bernardo Wildfire. I leveraged early start-up experiences to master complex systems while pinpointing opportunities to streamline processes. This allowed me to deftly navigate austere environments with grit and precision.Along the way, I learned how to build a robust network to gain advantage and accelerate ahead of my peers and competitors. I ranked in the 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝟱% of all 1,200 inspectors nationwide for Hurricane Wilma—that’s 70 of 1,200.
