Kevin Lam, CISSP, is the founder of LOCKBOX LLC dba IronBox (www.goironbox.com) and inventor of the IronBox Data Protection and Privacy Platform (D3P) which Microsoft called “a powerful and reliable way to exchange sensitive data while safeguarding it from online and physical threats.” Kevin developed IronBox in response to his 15+ years of experience as a professional hacker for Fortune 500 companies. In early 2010 he observed the growing need to protect data with a powerful platform that could quickly adapt to ever evolving system threats while being easy enough for non-security experts to use. Today, companies worldwide are using IronBox to effortlessly protect highly sensitive data on the Cloud, on mobile devices and more.Prior to starting LockBox LLC, Kevin was a senior security technologist and strategist at Microsoft Corporation. At Microsoft he was responsible for protecting high-value, highly-targeted electronic assets. He was also a trusted security advisor and trainer to executive and security teams of key Microsoft customers on malicious hacker techniques/preventive strategies. Before Microsoft, Kevin was a lead penetration tester at a Big 4 audit firm where he led simulated malicious hacker attacks against Fortune 100 customer networks and trained other security consultants.Kevin is the lead author of the Microsoft book, Assessing Network Security (ISBN: 9780735620339) and has also contributed to several other publications. He is a frequent speaker on the topic of hacking, data protection and application security. In addition, Kevin is the co-inventor of the Anti-SQL Injection library which is used by organizations worldwide to dramatically reduce their risk from SQL Injection attacks, the number one cause of data breaches today. Kevin holds Mathematics and Computer Science degrees from the University of Waterloo in Canada.
