Leads the fundraising strategy development and implementation process for Baltimore City Public School initiatives in need of private or additional public funding, including securing:- Over $25M from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in support of the district’s Continuous Improvement work in literacy, 9th Grade on Track, and mathematics- Over $4M from the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies in support of literacy work and the implementation of high quality instructional materials as well as tutoring strategy- $1.75M from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation for dual enrollment, family and community engagement, and literacy professional learning. - $3M through the State of Maryland’s Striving Readers program- $1.13M through the Department of Education’s Innovative Approaches to Literacy program- $1.08M through the National Science Foundation’s ITEST programCo-creating and leading the Heart of the Schools program, including:- Organizing the Heart of the School Awards each May, a night to honor Baltimore City Public Schools principals, attended by over 500 people annually- Leading the selection process for principals honored during the event- Leading the fundraising for the event, including proposal development and outreach to potential sponsors- Organizing the Heart of the School Fund, through which grants of up to $5,000 are given to schools to support pressing needs. All funds come from proceeds from the Heart of the School Awards.- Implementing the communication strategy, including media opportunities, social media, and newsletters
