I have a variety of experience in retail, food service, and healthcare. I worked four years in retail working for Maverik Country Stores and four years working in food service for Marriott and later for Fine Host providing food services to Boise State University. I spent the last 12 years working in healthcare as a patient transporter, weekend dispatcher, clinic coordinator, and health information specialist. I spent the first three years a patient transporter at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center and I was later promoted to weekend dispatcher to fill that position. During that time, I began volunteering for the Get Immmunized Free on Tuesdays (G.I.F.T.) free community immunization clinic. In 2002, I transferred to another department within St. Luke's. I continued my volunteer work with the clinic and I promoted to clinic coordinator in 2006. Unfortunately, my promotion was short as funding for the clinic ended in December 2006. As previously stated, I transferred to another department and I later became the department's health information specialist. I remained in that position for almost eight years. In 2006, I decided it was time to get my Bachelor's degree, which I completed in May 2010. I decided in September 2010 to continue for an MBA degree, which I am currently working on and I will complete in January 2012. I am also working the Southwest Idaho Local Program Council to setup events for Southwest Idaho members of the Idaho Healthcare Executive Forum (IHEF), a chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
