Time was divided between machine prototype design and facilities engineering• Guided value added equipment programs that built onto and maintained a revenue stream to Chem-Trend conservatively estimated at over $5 Million annually• Many of our products were diluted down at customer site using Chem-Trend provided Proportioning Machines. Participated in the design, facilitated construction and testing on a large number of these machines. Works with DMD unit below• Designed Dilution Monitoring Device (DMD) from prototype through to production unit. Unit measures two fluid streams entering proportioning pump and automatically displays water to concentrate ratio on an HMI. Yielded 80% increase in accuracy over traditional method of measuring ratios. Resulting machine performed within +/- 2% of actual, well inside the combined error of testing variables• Volumetric Dispensing Unit (VDU) is a positive displacement fluid delivery system used in conjunction with tire industry spray booths. Initiated design FMEA on a legacy unit that dramatically reduced risk, greatly increased effectiveness, all while decreasing per unit cost by 43%• Wrote, tested and launched PLC and HMI programming for the VDU, DMD, & Proportioner programs including some networked devices• Carried out design of 15 new stainless steel chemical production vessels ranging in size from 5000 to 50 gallons in AutoCAD 2D & 3D for a new plant in China• Designed, implemented, and commissioned dozens of modifications to existing chemical handling, production and storage equipment.
