Acted as the sole Internal Developer Advocate for Groupon engineering teams, with a focus on: • establishing lines of customer feedback to Dev Ops• clarity of processes related to company-wide Kubernetes migration, • a training program for developers, * and growing a community for engineering talent.Key Accomplishments • Created and produced over 12 hours of video featuring myself and other developers for a program called Demo Days. This program had a cumulative attendance of 2200 developers, over nine months, leading to a developer onboarding program. • Relaunched yearly hackathon proof-of-concept, which had 320 engineers organization-wide participate, with DevOp support and new platform features curated for developers. Through my organization and leadership, we established new support systems, a channel for developer concerns and feedback, and a sandbox platform in Kubernetes and AWS • Coached Java framework team through a rewrite of developer documentation used by 140+ service teams at Groupon. Reduced documentation footprint from 80 to ~30 pages. Improved discoverability by organizing documents around essential developer tasks • Created a Docker and Kubernetes training program (presentations, tutorials, and documentation) for Groupon developers. Over 20 development teams at Groupon used 2+ hours of video content. • Led team of 25 employees as Co-Chair of Pride@Groupon (LGBTQ+ ERG) and Seattle Culture Club for two years, identifying gaps in recruiting, employee retention, employee engagement, and marketplace strategies. Organized 50+ events that kept the community and volunteer team engaged throughout the two years. Due to my leadership and direction, we came in under budget at 50% of the allocation.

Architected, led, and delivered on projects as a Full Stack Engineer that contributed to the front-end and back-end facets of Groupon Getaways vision statement, which included increasing conversion as well as expanding inventory.Key Accomplishments • Architected, coded, and shipped a new inventory purchase pipeline based in Java, Dropwizard, and internal frameworks. This generated over $1 million in annualized profit for the business. Identified optimization through reducing latency by 88% on API endpoints. Improved customer experience as well as the bottom line by addressing the four percent of reservations that did not end in a valid end state. Coordinated feature work to deprecate other’s services with ten other teams. • Developed integration of travel inventory systems with American Express, allowing the product to scale to all Groupon travel merchants and opening up for additional feature integration with two channel managers (such as Synxis). • Re-architected complex business logic for financial processing and reconciliation across applications spanning four business units, streamlining the process, and removing additional un-needed dependencies. • Acted as the project lead for Google Hotel Metasearch – a project enabling Google’s end-users to search for Groupon Hotels. Provided $5 million in annualized revenue to the Getaways business post-launch. • Created a tool in Javascript integrated with the Jenkins API to assist full-stack teams in identifying unreliable tests in their E2E integration; in specific organizations, this helped in prioritizing tech debt.

Supported Intel's Architecture and Visual Parallel Computing Group by contributing to an internal web application code base that allowed architects and validation engineers to edit, generate RTL, and read formal/informal specifications.Key Accomplishments • Designed and maintained multiple JQueryUI Plug-ins and AngularJS Apps used throughout the platform, including a "subscription" field heavily inspired by Gmail's To/CC/BCC fields. • Engineered a back-end multi-threaded indexer from scratch for a formal specification to be later used for change notices to the said specification of the GPU • Integrated access controls into existing legacy MVC/REST-ful API calls leveraging C# attributes and reflection to improve security on the application.

Worked and provided features for an internal tool that provided a randomized instruction set to the GPU to test edge cases as well as load testing.Key Accomplishments---Created automated build and release software for team that provided validation and regression platform and daily releasesResearched, improved the implementation, and documented 292 assembly shader instructions that were left undocumented through the last ten yearsRefactored validation platform to be able to do loose Unit Testing using the Ruby minitest gem. This was then followed by influencing the team to adopt unit testing and a TDD model.Supported and improved wiki-like platform for internal narrative and formal specification for GPU.
