Accomplished CEO, entrepreneur and relentless advocate for promoting a positive team culture. I have run several companies from start-ups through large, multi-national and publicly traded businesses. Acquiring ADSI with our team at SPUR Acquisitions, I am using my business and leadership skills to help lead this amazing company through its next level of growth and success. Prior to joining SPUR, I founded an investment and advisory business (Ship Rock Capital) and was CEO of Performance Sports Group. Leading that company from Nike ownership (as Bauer Hockey) through its purchase by a private equity fund, and two successful IPOs, ultimately increasing the company’s enterprise value from $200 million to almost $1 billion was a an incredible journey with great growth and learning. Leading an amazingly talented team, we acquired 7 businesses, significantly grew our core hockey business to global leadership and leveraged the company’s strengths in R&D and marketing into other sports using authentic brands. This portfolio had number one brands in hockey and baseball and leading brands in lacrosse.I have had the privilege of working at major brands such as Nike, Gillette and Braun and gained global M&A experience while at Boston Scientific. At Pathway, I had the opportunity to lead the finance and administrative teams through venture funding stages as CFO. Additionally, I earned my CPA and CMA certifications at EY following my graduation from UMass Lowell where I graduated magna cum laude with a double major in finance and accounting.Sharing my experiences to help others is important to me and public speaking is one way I have been able to do just that. Over the last few years I've been invited to speak at several local and international venues including a US Congressional briefing, the Canadian SBA, and the US Sporting Goods Manufacturing Association’s annual conference. Perhaps the greatest compliment I have received was being asked by fellow CEOs to speak at their companies on several topics including the challenges of rapid growth, how to manage through crisis situations, the importance of maintaining a positive and thriving corporate culture and lessons learned from my various successes and challenges in business. I have also spoken at numerous university business schools sharing my story with personal lessons and suggestions to help students as they graduate into the workforce.
