As an accomplished senior global communications and strategy executive with a 20+-year record of accomplishment in advising CEOs and other senior executives in all aspects of internal and external communications and through highly complex situations, I am known for my ability to build, lead and motivate high performing teams, with academic credentials that include two Master’s degrees, including an MBA. Recruited to join RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) in 2005, and promoted to Managing Director and Global Head of Communications in 2010, I conceptualized and created a global communications model and lead internal and external communications for RBC Capital Markets, a top 10 investment bank, and RBC Investor & Treasury Services, a top 10 custody/treasury bank. As well, I built from inception a global team of nearly 30 people in the U.S. and multiple countries globally.I developed and executed the strategy to build from the ground up, RBC’s profile in the U.S. and internationally, leading to an unprecedented increase in the bank’s brand awareness in the U.S. and globally and ranking as the “Most Trusted Investment Bank in the World” by The Economist and #1 Global Custodian by the Global Custodian magazine. In sum, over the past decade, I have led the re-branding of RBC from a Canadian-centric bank to one of the most respected global banks in the world. I have significant expertise in crisis management, reputation management, and regulatory matters. I am also an accomplished strategist on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other special situations, and am expert in both change management and employee communications.I have exemplary credentials as a lead spokesperson in the U.S. and globally, with strong knowledge of the global capital markets, and all aspects of financial services, economics, and international trade and development.Earlier, I was the former practice head at two of the world’s largest public relations agencies, GCI Group and Weber Shandwick.
