My responsibilities were to research, plan, design, and administer building projects for clients, apply knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials: Consults with client to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, and equipment. Plans layout of project and integrated engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval. Prepared scale drawings and contract documents for building contractors. Represented client in obtaining bids and awarding construction contracts. Administered construction contracts and conducted periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans and design intent. During my time at BJG I began my architectural education and eventually transferred from my local community college to The University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In addition to further enhancing my architectural education I continued to work for BJG by assisting in the opening of a satellite office in Las Vegas. Here I maintained most of the same responsibilities that I had when I was working in the main office in Reno while adding a few additional responsibilities. These included marketing public relations and network administration.
