I’m currently a Senior Software Engineer Staples Promotional Products, a company focused on building software in an agile environment using Lean principles and Kanban. Developer team building and collaboration are key components in the development process, as we value the benefits of sharing knowledge and ideas throughout the development lifecycle. The primary platforms are Microsoft .Net, Angular and IBM iSeries (AS/400), using the latest technologies.Before joining Staples Promotional Products, I worked for Integrity Inspired Solutions, a consulting company geared toward helping clients adapt a Agile approach to software development. Before joining Integrity Inspired Solutions, I worked for Fred Pryor Seminars, an industry leader in business training providing both online training and public seminars. During my twelve years at Pryor as a software engineer, I developed many applications and assumed many roles, as the company transformed from a waterfall development style to a Lean Agile approach, using Kanban. I was able to compare and contrast the two approaches first hand, and quickly saw the value in engineering software as a closely knitted team. We used the new process to implement Pryor’s training membership application and the web site shopping cart with great success. I developed on both the .Net and iSeries platforms, and had an integral role of unifying the coding practices of the two systems.I really enjoy developing software with a team striving to work smarter, not harder. Having a process in place to facilitate good communication and teamwork, is in my view, a basic element to success in any development endeavor!
