Not only was he able to define structured templates and utility nodes in Katana and Nuke to ease the day to day work of his artists, he also was in constant relationship with the Pipeline team in order to get the right toolsets for his team to be able to achieve the best quality movie with the dire resources we had in our hands. Artistically, he was the one in charge of most of the lighting masters for the movie, defining the moods of keyshots throughout the movie, matching the color board so well it was sometimes hard to find the difference. You could really feel on the floor that his team respected him and his work as he was leading with example. Even though as a CG Sup Rigging I was mainly focused on the front end departments, we really got to talk a lot throughout the production and work together to make sure we'd get to the finish line on time as he was able to give me insights on best practices to make the front end help the back end departments work better.
