Surf Air Mobility aspired to move the world forward, faster and accelerate electric aviation to make air travel accessible for everyone and sustainable for generations to come. Ampaire had been under an acquisition agreement to go public via SPAC as part of Surf Air Mobility. Ampaire would lead the group's electrification efforts, alongside the regional airline operations and ride-hailing ticket sales platform. In March 2022, Ampaire withdrew from that path, instead staying independent, private, and in charge of its own destiny.
