• Delivered an all-inclusive aquatic programme providing sustainable structures across Manchester at eleven pools.• Responsible for the effective leadership, direction and management of 15 staff, together we translated the vision into reality. Managed the process of harmonisation of staff contracts. • Mentored community club teachers and ensured access to a CPD programme that met needs of staff/volunteers. • Management of £1m budget and procurement of goods/services, ie school swimming transport.• Facilitated partnerships between schools swimming, learn to swim programmes and swimming & water polo clubs and instigated a pilot to look at ways of delivering a citywide development programme to ensure pathway for progression.Key stakeholders including the national governing body, British Swimming and commercial partners invested in the Manchester programme.• Teaching and coaching of aquatics throughout the city was standardised (11 pools, 128 schools, 5 swimming clubs) through the adoption of the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming, increasing national curriculum attainment (58% to 73%). • Events strategy included an annual community programme ie schools swimming gala and ‘rising stars' galas. £300k secured to develop access to free swimming for more than 10,000 under 16s (4 years before the Government initiative). Funding secured to modernise and improve community pools, opening up access to minority groups.• Sustainable model established and business plans aligned to the structure and programme at each of the 11 facilities, resulted in the Beacon Programme award (1 of 8).• Knowledge and experience of coaching swimming at all levels of the aquatic continuum from foundation school swimming programme, to performance.
