I am a strategic bioinformatics, computational biology and data sciences leader with multi-disciplinary technical expertise and experience in translational product development. I have supported product launches in the RUO, IVD and CDx spaces. I combine deep scientific knowledge and leadership, and these are my core skills:Director level leadership in use of bioinformatics | Systems architect for custom through to cloud solutions | Analytical skills | Team management | Product life cycle | Business & Product skills | cGMP | RUO, IVD, CDx developmentAt ERI/UCHSC I identified inherited disease loci, developed assays and published initial analyses of genes on human Chromosome 21.At InforMax, Inc. I managed a team of bioinformaticists, developers, QA testers, technical support and trainers to support and customize desktop, enterprise server based and custom bioinformatics services. Growth of InforMax resulted in IPO. At Invitrogen, I managed InforMax product lines and transitioned tools into Invitrogen through outreach. I supported BioDefense and ADMET. I reduced costs by off-shoring. At Life Technologies in 2008, I matrixed into multiple teams and led InforMax's Vector NTI and supported production LIMSs, SOLiD sequencing and Transplantation Diagnostics. At ThermoFisher I led the Synthetic Biology Unit's software group. External collaborations resulted in characterized tools that I translated into Vector NTI Express Designer. I delivered solutions for NGS, gene synthesis, DNA assembly, and gene engineering via CRISPR and TALens. We used Amazon cloud to deploy tools and later enable purchasing. I implemented LIMS, added custom tools and enabled workflow automation.At Synthetic Genomics I led NGS, Bioinformatics, Software Engineering and DevOps. We released a new bioinformatics cloud platform, integrated it with LIMS, rolled out novel workflows and responded to new company needs.BioCoder Consulting enables me to provide my extensive skills and knowledge as a service. At ArcherDx / Invitae I lead a team of computational biologists, data scientists, and developers to release validated softwares, LIMS and infrastructure supporting FAIR data practices. We collected data for the business supporting internal studies, medical device and laboratory developed test submissions to regulatory agencies in USA, EU and Asia, and support of RUO and CDx trials.At Myriad Genetics I was brought in to start a Health Intelligence initiative to share Myriad test data to help partners and customers achieve better patient outcomes in oncology and urology.
