Sun Life has operations in 22 countries, and as of March 31, 2020, had total assets under management of over $1 Trillion. After retiring as President, Sun Life of Canada, I stayed on in this newly created role to create a digital accelerator to incubate new technologies and applications in the mobile/digital/AI space, solidifying and extending Sun Life’s leadership position during a time of profound business threat and change. The four initiatives I led were Digital Health Solutions (Lumino Health), Data Science Lab, VOICE and Digital Partnerships. Sun Life is now the recognized leader in the application of digital technologies, including mobile, VOICE, and AI, in Canada, as cited by multiple Buyers, Advisors, Analysts, and Credit Rating Agencies. Sun Life’s Canadian Business Group was comprised of three Major lines of business: Group Benefits; Group Retirement Services; and Retail Insurance and Wealth. Approximately 6,000 employees, 4,000 Career Sales Professionals, and $900M of Net Income.Launched and implemented a new strategy to pursue market leadership and profitable growth by expanding distribution, repositioning in important underserved markets, introducing industry leading innovations, and creating three new engines of growth. Results:▪ Group Benefits and Group Retirement Services became the industry leaders in both business volumes and margins, driven by strong and consistent sales volumes, accelerated growth in Quebec, and the highest client retention rates in the industry, 10 years in succession. ▪ Individual Insurance sales grew to lead the industry, moving from a distant 4th in the rankings to Number One. ▪ Achieved highest Net-Promoter Score (NPS) scores in the Canadian industry four years in succession, achieved top-quartile, and industry-leading employee engagement, and the highest-rated mobile app in financial services in Canada.

Worked with the CEO's of these organizations to drive performance and create a coherent strategy in order to optimize their leverage and value to the enterprise.
