Lead the development and execution of New Door's strategic vision for youth employment and education services in San Francisco and Oakland.

Taught ~150 graduate and undergraduate students in topics including public policy advocacy for nonprofit managers, leadership, policy analysis, and the nonprofit sector with a focus on connecting class content to the real world. Oversaw programs providing school-based job readiness training and employer partnerships that led to job placements for 5000+ young people and postsecondary education for 300+ students. Secured funding to support annual budget of over $3mm, including acquiring JVS’ largest private and corporate gifts for youth programming. Led advocacy to reauthorize Children and Youth Fund, resulting in $75 million annually of public funding for San Francisco youth service providers for next 25 years. Strengthened credibility and respect for the organization and its ability to positively impact the lives of young people. Through coaching model and growth focus, developed team and their careers with a focus on practices that supported staff that had similar lived experiences as the young people we served. Awarded Claudia Fogel Leadership Award by International Association of Jewish Vocational Services, 2013.

Operated, maintained, and repaired a shipboard nuclear power plant under extraordinarily stressful conditions. Served in various leadership roles. Awarded Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze Star among other medals, ribbons and commendations.
