Senior International Applications EngineerNextest Systems Corporation Jan 2001 - May 2009Based In Newcastle, Tyne And Wear, EnglandIn this wide ranging position I provided applications support for customers in North America, Europe and Asia using the Nextest family of semiconductor automatic test equipment. The primary roles were application development using C/C++ WinForms projects to control automatic test equipment and low level embedded microcode algorithm development to test electronic devices. I was also involved in developing utility tools for data analysis and data manipulation (using C/ C++ / C# / Perl / XML). Applications typically covered the whole design life cycle and included wafer sort test, final package test, device characterization and production utility tools. In addition to supporting existing customers I also provided technical support for the sales team to help develop new customer accounts and I provided in-house customer training classes for both applications software development and hardware maintenance. I also performed hardware and software system installations at customer sites. I was made redundant in May 2009 as a result of the global economic recession. -

Senior Test EngineerHybrid Memory Products Jan 1998 - Sep 2000North Shields, North Tyneside, EnglandI was employed by Hybrid Memory Products to manage all aspects of the Test and Burn-in department. I led a small team which included a consultant engineer, test engineer and test technician. Day to day tasks involved product debug of Flash, EEPROM, SRAM and DRAM modules using a variety of automatic test systems. Products were tested and burned-in to a wide range of specifications, including the military MILL883 standard. I was responsible for developing and maintaining software applications (using C / C++); test hardware and all associated documentation; as well as performing maintenance and fault finding down to board level. Customer liaison and support was also an important aspect of this position. I left Hybrid Memory Products in September 2000 to take up the position of Senior Test Engineer at Smart Modular Technologies.

Semiconductor Test EngineerSyntaq Ltd Jan 1995 - Jan 1998Cramlington, Northumberland, EnglandI was employed by Syntaq primarily to maintain and develop test programs and create automatic yield collection and data analysis tools for their Advantest memory test systems. This small company specialized in using its fault tolerant architecture in the production of PC memory modules. Evaluation of the suitability of different vendors’ designs was a core function of this position. My responsibilities also included the general maintenance and programming of an environmental burn-in system and automatic burn-in board loader, whilst also developing test software (using C / C++) for in-house custom designed memory testers. In January 1998 I was transferred to a sister company, Hybrid Memory Products, to take up the position of Senior Test Engineer.
