Linux kernel, U-Boot, Yocto Project, and other platform software work for the R1 / EDV Telematics Control Module

Linux kernel, Yocto, and some bare-metal firmware. I helped create the Syng Link accessory cable.

• Led IR&D effort to develop Xilinx Zynq-based Hardware-In-the-Loop platform for small satellite systems -- Yocto-based Linux distro, with custom device drivers to manage state on Zynq fabric• Helped to develop bootloader, Board Support Package, and build tools for next generation ARM Cortex M4-based Aerocube flight computer• Led internal IR&D effort to emulate ARM Cortex M0-based spacecraft SoC with QEMU

• Developed software in C / Fortran and firmware in VHDL to emulate avionics components of commercial launch vehicles; assisted in diagnosing and debugging simulation issues during test and validation efforts• Wrote peripheral-, device-, and payload-driver software for PIC-based Aerocube CubeSat and internal ARM Cortex M0-based satellite payload

• Wrote Assembly level test code for an FPGA emulation of a commercial spacecraft processor in order to verify its functionality.• Added control and data flow to Hardware-In-the-Loop simulation using LabVIEW for FPGA and LabVIEW for Real-Time Systems.• Diagnosed and debugged problems with MIL-STD-1553 and backplane buses for simulation of spacecraft communication.• Helped develop debugger for emulated processor by communicating over serial USB connection with external machine.

• Developed and built PCM Frame for telemetering data from upcoming sounding rocket launch.• Used OrCAD to update electrical drawings from previous rocket launch to reflect changes made for next mission.• Conducted full functional and environmental testing of Low Noise Amplifiers, Power Dividers, and Hybrid Couplers

• Developed a tensioning scheme for optical fibers to reduce, and in some cases eliminate, the effect of Stimulated Brillouin Scattering within fiber at high intensities of laser light, while minimizing power loss and keeping the dispersive properties.• Measured changes in optical properties of highly nonlinear fiber using VNAs, Spectral Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and automation using NI LabView.• Helped tune and develop an optical frequency comb source for later application with optical signal processing and transmission 
within the lab.

• Graded homework programming assignments and held weekly office hours for students who needed extra help in the course or with 
homework assignments. • Ran a practical lab session once a week that allowed students to practice what they had learned in the course with the help of the TAs and learn what was to be expected on homework assignments (coding format, commenting, documenting, etc.).
