Kevin Saunders worked as the Motivational / Speaker for the Kansas State University Football Team from 1991 to 2005. Saunders was in charge of preparing motivational materials and presentaion for the players and Coaching staff at Kansas State. Kevin Saunders was part of the; "Greatest turn-around in college football history" to date orchestrated by Head Coach Bill Snyder. With Head Coach Bill Snyder back at the helm, with great group of coaches & players Kevin Saunders hopes to see them break more records and create the 2nd greatest turnaround in college football history! They have a good start with a 2011 season record of 10 - 2 good for 2nd place in the BIG XII and a berth in the Cotton Bowl game against Arkansas on January 6, 2012 at the Dallas Cowboys stadium in Arlington, TX. GO CATS! Now in 2012 the Kansas State Wildcats are back out to work harder than ever before in practice on everything they do. With a goal to break new barriers & push past limitations by reaching new levels of excllence, acheivement & possibility. The only place you can find success before work is in the dictionary. So the Wildcats are about doing the work necessary to reach their goals. The Wildcats will NEVER - NEVER GIVE UP Fighting & Fighting until the Fight is WON! GO 2012 Wilcats! Over a grueling period of several months, Kevin pushed his wheelchair from one end of America to the other, over 2,500 miles, meeting with local officials and families along the way to share his insight on the nation’s health crisis. In one stop after another, in big cities and small towns, he spread hope and advice improving the well-being of communities across the country.The trip itself was something of an adventure. There were downhill stretches where his racing chair would reach speeds over fifty miles an hour. That might not seem so quick from behind the wheel of a car, but in a wheelchair it feels like one is about to break the speed barrier, especially with eighteen wheelers barreling by, as they often were. As exciting as the fast sections were though, the biggest challenges were the hills and the heat. State roads aren’t designed for people in wheelchairs. Kevin recounts, “It seemed like every time I made my way over some long, gradual incline, it would just level off enough so that I could see another one coming up. This was heading south in the dead of summer, so the waves coming up off the blacktop could burn over 130 degrees. I would curse the heat until I ran into days of rain, pounding down on me so hard that I couldn’t see what was in front of me. Sometimes it was overwhelming, and so I just tried to keep myself motivated and break it down into small stretches.”“My mission was to help motivate, educate and inspire the American people and to create lasting health and fitness habits.”At each stop, Kevin conducted a health and fitness summit geared toward the mayor and city council members to share some insight on the epidemic and help gain support for the “Big Push.” To make it to Laredo on time, he needed to push his racing wheelchair or hand-cycle about 50 miles per day via state highways. The purpose of the “Big Push” was to serve as a preamble to the larger, more detailed “Fitness 4 All 50 State Tour,” a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization.

Kevin Saunders established the Wheelchair Success Foundation (WSF) in 1990. He did so out of a desire to create something that would benefit others, now and in the future. It was because of the way he was raised. While growing up on a farm in Downs, Kansas, Kevin was taught how it's more important to give than to receive, and to treat others as you would like to be treated. Following his injury, Kevin embraced the turning point of his life and forged ahead. He realized who he was and where he wanted to go. He learned to develop strategies and set goals to achieve his dreams. He became a world champion wheelchair athlete and top inspirational, motivational speaker, author and actor.But another dream was to establish the WSF, Kevin wanted to help others who are permanently confined to wheelchairs be full participants in the game of life. Kevin wants to encourage and help wheelchair bound individuals receive college degrees or learn technical trades.
