I am a venture investor that focuses on enterprise technology companies.Early in my career, I co-founded and was CEO of atMadison.com. Founding and running a company in the heat of the dot-com bubble was an exciting and challenging experience that strongly influenced my decision to ultimately enter the venture business. Today, I enjoy the high of creating new businesses vicariously through the entrepreneurs I invest in.Additionally, I've spent time as a senior member of the corporate development teams at Microsoft and Electronic Arts. I also was part of the group that launched EA's original online gaming business (Pogo.com). During this part of my career, I learned an incredible amount about digital media, online services, and software businesses from some of the most successful executives in the technology industry.I earned my MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and completed my undergraduate education at the University of Texas at Austin. I am also a graduate of the Kauffman Fellows Program.I'm a native Texan and foodie. When I'm not working, I enjoy trying to find great barbecue and southern food joints (unfortunately there are few in the Bay Area) and spending time with my wife and two sons.

Business DevelopmentPogo.Com 2000 - 2001Pogo was Electronic Arts' original entry into the Web-based casual gaming business. My role involved sourcing and executing a variety of technology partnerships, distribution deals, and content licensing agreements.Pogo was a startup inside of a public company. Our team acted as an independent business to build one of the first companies in the casual gaming space. This was my second stint as an "entrepreneur" -- but one that ended on a high note. Today, Pogo generates several hundred million dollars a year in revenue.

Co-Founder And CeoAtmadison.Com 1998 - 2000I co-founded atMadison.com during my last year of business school. The company went on to win the first annual Wharton Business Plan competition. atMadison provided small and medium-sized businesses with online tools to develop and execute marketing plans.Despite our best efforts, our team ended up not being able to survive the technology industry crash. While we didn't have a positive outcome, I learned a lot about what it takes to build a team, build a product, and land customers and partners. Winding up the business was one of the toughest things I've ever done, but I wouldn't trade the experience I had building atMadison.com for anything.
