I am a psychological and behavioral researcher with over 10 years of experience measuring and statistically analyzing people's attitudes, beliefs, emotions, and behaviors. I have expertise in turning problems into testable research questions, designing and managing in-person and online research studies, leading teams and collaborating with others, and communicating data-based results to non-technical audiences. Ultimately, I want to help improve people's lives by using research to understand how to better meet their needs, which I'm currently doing within consumer insights as a market research director.I'm personally very passionate about social justice and equity, which led me to pursue social psychology in grad school, with research focused on prejudice and stereotyping. I combined that with one of my other passions - video games - in my dissertation research looking at how prejudice manifests in gaming communities. I looked at how the attitudes and preferences of gamers predict their enjoyment of video games, decisions about what video games they play, and how they interact with other gamers. I was interested in how prejudice and discrimination can prevent people from enjoying video games or pursuing related careers, which can limit diversity and representation within gaming communities, the video game industry, and video game content itself.I have also taught in-residence and online undergraduate courses in psychology. Courses I have taught include introductory psychology, introductory social psychology, psychology of gender, and research methods.
Listed skills include Social Psychology, Psychology, Research, Quantitative Research, and 20 others.
