I advise clients in media, advertising, intellectual property and complex business litigation matters. I am the Chair of Frost Brown Todd's Media Industry Team and recognized as one of Ohio’s leading litigators. I have been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America®, Ohio Super Lawyers® and received the AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell®. In 2023, I was named to the World Trademark Review 1000, an independent ranking of the top 1000 trademark practitioners world-wide. I have extensive experience representing national media clients such as NBC, NY Times and Rolling Stone in high profile cases, often brought by celebrities or political figures. I defend defamation and invasion of privacy cases and advocate for access to courtrooms and public records. Most recently, I led litigation teams that obtained summary judgment awards for media clients in Don Blankenship v. Fox News Network, LLC, et al., S.D. W. Va. Case No 2:19-cv-00236 (February 2, 2022); and Nicholas Sandmann v. Rolling Stone, LLC, E.D. Ky. Case No. 2:20CV27 (July 26, 2022).I also regularly represent clients in intellectual property cases, including trademark, counterfeiting, copyright, false advertising, unfair competition, trade secret, privacy and technology litigation. I have successfully protected and defended some of the world’s most recognized brands in state and federal courts and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (“TTAB”). I am a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA).I am the past-Chair and a current member of the Columbus Bar Association Judicial Screening Committee and the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) Media Law Committee. I also serve on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross of Greater Columbus.
