When I joined, the 3rd party geolocation data market was imploding due to compliance and structural issues and the business was losing most of its customers. I found a new supplier that maintained a key $1.5MM contract that literally kept the lights on. Then I developed the strategic vision for the company focused on existing strengths and value add. Long-time employees said the company had never had a vision like this. The new vision laid the groundwork for the company’s first $10MM+ contract and eventual acquisition.- Owned AI / ML geoanalytics platform and MLOps pipeline, SaaS and high side deployable (Helm Charts, Kubernetes, and virtualization / bare metal support), EDA, API/SDK, web/mobile UI.- Coordinated strategic operations, GTM, portfolio management, business model design.- Led and developed strategy, product, design, GIS, and program teams.- Drove delivery for our biggest contracts, managed customer and partner relationships.- Closely collaborated with data science / ML, system architect, and platform engineering on product / solution development.- Extensive hands-on work: value props and marketing assets, roadmaps, personas, user stories, wireframes, sprint management, cost modeling, RFP responses, contract mgmt.

HP was a client for over 18 years. I started consulting for them in 2004 when the organization was failing to deliver on a major program with Microsoft, putting $16MM at imminent risk. My job was to turn the Titanic, figure out who all of the stakeholders were globally, train them, and convince them to properly implement and deploy the requirements across HP’s consumer and enterprise ecommerce assets in less than 6 weeks. I succeeded, saving the at-risk dollars, but realized that the organization needed an ongoing capability for delivering strategic programs.Management agreed, so I designed and built an internal service for definition, design, scoping, deployment and validation of high value initiatives. The program delivered over $3B in revenue during my tenure.- Developed and managed the program team that worked across the organization.- Responsible for contract review, schedules, reporting, executive stakeholder alignment.- Coordinated cross-functional communication and collaboration with Partnership, Legal, Marketing, UX/Design, Content, Eng/IT, Ops, and external agencies / providers.

OneID was looking to develop a product strategy in IoT and a quick exit. I joined to develop vision, GTM, and product roadmap for Zero Trust Identity for IoT as well as product marketing assets for the PKI-based IaaS Platform. I pitched and landed us a spot in the Plug and Play accelerator program and partnered with the CEO on dozens of investor, customer, and M&A pitches. After delivering on proof of concept engagements with key customers Cisco and Accenture, we successfully closed acquisition by Neustar.

In my first week on the job, the $10B+ BRICS local entity program for Google Payments went off the rails. Designs weren’t getting done with enough lead time to develop and deploy by deadline. I created and managed a process for coordinating communications across Product, Compliance, UX, Engineering, and Ops teams to improve information exchange and accelerate workflows. Success! Designs and new features delivered on time.I also saw an opportunity to elevate design quality and speed. Material Design had just come out and I engaged closely with the UX design team to develop an integrated design/engineering working model and wrote a low-code, component-based rapid prototyping tool to create cutting edge, multi-platform interaction/product designs.- Provided program management for UX design and research activities.- Developed organization-level cross functional operational and tool improvements.- Refined and documented Product Area strategy, roadmaps and portfolio management.

Seed-round Propelhire, an HR productivity tool, had outsourced development to a 3rd party, but it wasn’t getting done. I was already building their marketing website and they asked if I could help. I developed personas, MVP definition and product roadmap, redesigned the data model for better information integration, re-wrote the server-side, and single-handedly designed the UI and built the AJAX front end in 4 months to deliver on time for a key industry trade show.Provided product innovation services for identity, productivity, financial services, eCommerce and more:- Product (research, personas, strategy / roadmaps, user stories, wireframes).- Program (workflow design, stakeholder coordination, requirements, schedules, reporting).- Design (interaction design, visual design, cutting-edge motion interactions).- Development (front-end, server-side, database, AJAX / LAMP development).

After a year coding SGML and SQL for entertainment products at Microsoft, I was promoted to program/product manager. The existing product team was disjointed, with a rift between engineering and content/design, the deadline for product delivery was just 4.5 months away, and my DB programmer just left. I unified the team, wrote the product specs, drove schedules, and did all of the db programming myself to get the product over the finish line in time for Christmas delivery, twice as fast as the typical development cycle for similar products.My manager at Microsoft recruited me to do the same for entertainment and games when he started the Web division at Pearson.At unified messaging/VOIP startup ThinkLink, VCs were interested but weren’t committing. I designed the full application, including signup and payment flows, and led the engineering team that launched the MVP product in just 3 months, along the way implementing a 2-week release cycle and CI/CD approach 3 years before the Agile manifesto. VCs committed A-round funding just 2 weeks post-launch and the company eventually raised over $70MM.
