With extensive experience in data centre management since 2011, I draw on my technical skills and knowledge to manage facility services at Pulse Data Centre. The Pulse Data Centre is Australia’s first regional Tier 3 Uptime Institute certified facility. Designed and constructed to international standards, the first stage comprises a security office and data centre with total floor area of 4300m2. As the centre piece of the Toowoomba Technology Park, Pulse DC will support 2.5MW of IT load with planned expansion to 7.5MW. The facility incorporates highly resilient, tri-redundant power trains with diesel generator back-up and uninterruptable power supplies. My role as services manager is responsible for the development, implementation, ongoing compliance, and maintenance procedures to ensure the performance and uptime of the data centre facility.

My role as Services Manager for Next Data Centre’s B2 Facility included working with engineers, project managers, and consultants to achieve:• Uptime Tier IV Construction Certification• BCA Classification and Fire (QFES) Certification As well as organising facility procurement for Day 1 and ongoing operations, I also coordinated and programmed facility maintenance operations and critical plant machinery repairs and performed troubleshooting on critical plant faults.The role also included a large number of operational activities including, asset management, incident and change management, managing safe work and WHS procedures, facility OPEX/CAPEX budgeting, NSD installations and staff training and contractor management.

As Building Maintenance Coordinator my role included:• Coordinating and programming facility maintenance operations and critical plant machinery repairs.• Troubleshooting critical plant faults.• Asset Management, and working with consultants to implement an asset management data base.• Working with engineers, project managers, and consultants to implement facility upgrades and improvements.• Incident management.• Change management.• Drafting Safe Work instructions and procedures for peer approval in accordance with WHS Legislation and Regulations.• Referencing Australian Standards, WHS Legislation, and Regulations to ensure facility compliance is maintained.• Facility OPEX / CAPEX Budgeting.• WHS Committee Member, and assisted in the development of company WHS Policies and Procedures.• EPC Committee Member, and assisted in the development of Company Emergency Procedures, • Fire Safety Adviser.• Acting as Facility Manager in Facility Manager’s absence.• Data Structured Cabling Cross connect Installations.• Working with sales operations to complete customer NSD installations.• Contracts and Contractor management.

Subcontracted to NEXTDC, I was engaged to complete the internal fit-off for Data Halls Stage 1 racking and containment at NEXT Data Centre in Brisbane. This contract involved:• Working with consultants, project and site managers, and contractors to ensure client satisfaction and site security was achieved.• Coordinating contractors, machinery, materials, and labour to align with site programming and finishing schedules.• Coordinating small projects for internal data centre facility upgrades and head office upgrades and office fit outs. • Working with the facility manager, project manager, and certifier to obtain all necessary documentation.• Final inspections and as-built drawings to achieve final certification upon completion of Stage 2 fit-out.

Holding a supervisory role on site, I oversaw the demolition, interior and external fit-out, mechanical plant, finishes, and general site coordination for the Stage 1 Refurbishment of a nine-storey office building in the NEXTDC Data Centre in Brisbane. I also worked with consultants, project and site managers, and contractors to ensure client satisfaction. I coordinated trades, machinery, materials, and labour to align with site programming and finishing schedules. I also helped in obtaining all necessary documentation, final inspections, and as-built drawings to achieve final certification.

I was responsible for supervising site operations of a multi-purpose hall at Coolum State School as part of the BER project during fit-out and external and internal finishing stages. I supervised trades, performed site safety checks, implemented the permit to work system, and organised machinery. I liaised and consulted with clients to ensure satisfaction, ordered materials and coordinated contractors to align with site programming and finishing schedules. I also coordinated with project managers, contractors, architectural and engineering staff to rectify all defects. I worked with the project manager and certifier to obtain all necessary documentation, final inspections and as-built drawings to achieve final certification. Previously with Field Constructions, I held a Site Manager’s Assistant role on the construction of a multi-purpose hall and Resource Centre at Cooroy State School as part of the BER project.

I supervised various remedial works including concrete cancer, membrane and vinyl waterproofing, leak detection, building repaints, window and balustrade replacement, and bedding fall repairs. I supervised contractors, monitored site safety, permit to work systems, and machinery. I worked with the site manager, project managers, and other consultants, and liaised and consulted with clients to ensure requirements were met. I ordered materials, machinery, and coordinated contractors to align with site programming and finishing schedules. I coordinated with project managers, contractors, architectural and engineering staff to rectify all defects and worked with the project manager and certifier to obtain all necessary documentation, final inspections and as-built drawings to achieve final certification.

I assisted in the construction and completion of 22 luxury apartments called River Lights at Settlers Cove in Noosa. This role included the coordination of site labour and contractors, unloading of trucks and dispatch to storage, coordinating crane lifts to dispatch goods to appropriate levels, interpreting site drawings to set out profiles and relative levels, form work, and steel work. I also coordinated with the project managers, contractors, architectural and engineering staff to rectify all defects, and itemised site labour fees and invoices. Additionally, I coordinated contractors and labour for Base 1 Personnel for various site requirements throughout the Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay region, and itemised site labour fees and invoices.
