UWAC is Canada’s premier undergraduate accounting conference that serves over 180 delegates from across Canada, entailing a case competition, several workshops held by industry partners, and networking events.

The Accounting & Finance Student Association (AFSA) is a student run organization composed of students in the Accounting and Financial Management, Biotechnology/CPA, Computing and Financial Management, and Mathematics/CPA programs. Our goal is to meet the needs of Accounting and Finance students at the University of Waterloo.

The Create Change Foundation is a global charity network dedicated to empowering girls and young women to become leaders of change. In September 2020, our student leadership team launched the Ghana Girls Empowered initiative, focusing on raising funds for underrepresented women in Ghana. These donations support vital areas such as education, employment, leadership development, and access to essential resources like sanitary products. Contributions were received from Canada, the USA, and the UAE.As the Executive Communications Officer, my key responsibilities included:• Managing social media platforms to drive visibility and audience engagement• Designing advertisements and informational graphics to promote our initiatives• Creating interactive posts and stories to foster consistent social media engagement• Developing visually cohesive graphics and templates to enhance the overall branding and presentation• Collaborating on weekly content series, including "Tip Tuesdays" and "Fact Fridays," to provide value to our audience• Co-developing professional email and sales pitch templates for outreach to potential sponsors and partners• Handling sales inquiries and customer communication with professionalism and clarity• Designing stickers for our annual sticker sale, featuring messages of empowerment and cultural awarenessOur focused communication and outreach efforts helped us achieve significant fundraising milestones, with over $2,200 raised to date, and secured local sponsorships from businesses such as Swiss Chalet and Kelsey's.

Doctors of Tomorrow is a student-led nonprofit focused on raising awareness for global medical issues. In 2020, our team set out to raise funds for the Yemen Cholera Crisis through the successful execution of "The Med-Tech Hackathon," a virtual Ontario-wide event aimed at supporting this cause. All proceeds and admission fees from the event were donated directly to the charity.As the Director of Finance, I played a key role in both the planning and execution of the hackathon. My responsibilities included:• Launching and managing a GoFundMe campaign for donations• Setting up virtual ticket sales and admissions through Eventbrite• Establishing admission fees and tracking financial contributions• Enhancing participant engagement by answering questions, troubleshooting software issues, setting reminders, and leading discussions within the event’s Discord channels• Coordinating discussions and speaker sessions with tech sponsors, such as 'Qoom'• Supporting the Marvel and Sales Pitch workshops to boost participant involvementBy the event’s conclusion, participants had developed app prototypes and helped raise essential funds to support relief efforts for the Yemen Cholera Crisis.

The Ted-Ed Club is a school-wide program aimed at fostering students' public speaking, confidence, critical thinking, and communication skills. Throughout the year, students developed and presented speeches, which were assessed by a panel of school judges.In my role as Junior Executive, I was responsible for:• Guiding students through the process of brainstorming, drafting, and refining their speeches• Collaborating with the executive team to create and present my own speech• Promoting engagement and participation during weekly meetings• Designing and leading workshops focused on key presentation techniques, such as vocal delivery, content development, and body language
