I started an accounting consulting business, Key Business Solutions, Inc., in 2006 which allows me to work with a variety of different clientele. To support some of my clients I obtained my Certification as a PAS (Program Administration Scale) assessor, this system evaluates the management and leadership within the childcare environment. Though specific to childcare entities PAS has taught me valuable resources that can be applied to any entity. In June of 2014 I was invited to become a Federal Grant Application Reviewer for DHHS, this has given me the opportunity to expand my knowledge base towards the grant process. I have also worked at Trinidad State Jr College as an adjunct professor teaching accounting to community members, and have been a Small Business Development Center (SBDC) certified business consultant and counselor working with small business owners since 2007. Each quarter I set aside time to do low cost presentations on financial strengths and business ownership in a variety of locales. Working with different businesses in my community is a passion of mine. When consulting you walk in the door and need to come up with some process changes to streamline their system. Then there are times I am more of a business coach and personal physiologist. I constantly try to expand my learning opportunities to bring the information back to our rural community. Every client is a new adventure and I cannot wait to bring my experience to help them grow their businesses even more.We relocated Key Business Solutions, Inc. to 715 Main Street in Alamosa.
