Stories help us make sense of the world.As a long-time journalism nerd, I was always interested throughout high school and college in communicating compelling stories, volunteering for the school newspaper, dreaming of working for the top fashion magazine in the country, and even recording a children's book for a radio station (Hi Hansel and Gretel!) Four years after graduating as a journalist, I started a media company, although, at that time, it was just a satirical news site that I created out of frustration, and where I used humor and irony to explain news impacting our country.In less than a year, that satirical site I started as a side project was getting 15 million hits per month on average, and some months it even got up to 40-60 million visits per month. It turns out that satire works. It has the power to reinforce our existing viewpoints, and because it's often humorous, it makes us incredibly receptive to it and helps us confront the unpleasant reality and see the world as it is.Our content was relevant, creative, and emotionally engaging. The titles were catchy and with unique angles that others had not considered before. Sometimes they would go viral. I became good at finding, researching, and crafting newsworthy stories and understanding what makes people click on and share a piece of content. And I did just that, over and over again.Our stories have been featured or cited by high authority news sites like BBC, NBC, The Atlantic, Bloomberg, Univision, Breitbart, and others.I'd love to continue leveraging the art of storytelling to inspire action, creating stories that connect, engage, inspire and move people to tears, laughter, anger, and sympathy.My specialties include digital media, storytelling, user behavior, content research, creative content strategy, and content production.
