I took on my first leadership-role more than 20 years ago. Since then I have made many mistakes and misjudgments. About myself and about people around me. Now, results become more and more important for me. I used to favor relations. Results are reached through ambitious people working together in a culture of psychological safety. Three things stand out:1) Only the sky is the limit when engaged people pull together guided by a clear, sustainable purpose. 2) Clear leadership is the shortest way to success (and bad leadership can destroy it all). 3) Leadership is a team effort. The great leaders know the power of being present with other people, can quickly build trust, are courageous and do always take full responsibility in their (work) life.Taking on the Leadership role provides yourself with a privileged opportunity to help others to a richer, meaningful life. At the same time you will help yourself by becoming more aware of what is up&down in your life in general – and your work-life in particular.Being a leader is usually a complex and challenging job. The most rewarding and developing job I know of.
