My academic research career focuses on how the intestinal epithelium contributes to homeostatic responses by monitoring and delivering lumenal antigen. My graduate work focused on the development of epithelial M cells in the small intestine. As a postdoc, I've expanded this research to study how goblet cells, another population of intestinal epithelial cells, can deliver lumenal antigens and effect the outcome of immune responses in the gut.Specialties: Immunofluorescence and microscopy work, including intravital two-photon microscopy, in the small intestine.
