During this period, I owned all commercial outcomes for 25+ financial services and pension clients in the US and Canada, meaning the buck stopped with me regarding client satisfaction with GLG's service, annual contract negotiations, and maximizing the value of the client's use of the total GLG product suite. I split my time between Boston, Chicago, Toronto, and other cities, and spent most of my time coordinating between daily users of our service and GLG's service delivery teams providing fantastic consulting services to our clients. I also managed the internal revenue forecast for my region and coached Boston-based Business Development Associates on product knowledge, client outreach, and marketing initiatives.

This was one of my favorite roles - I managed a team of 17 providing sales and service delivery for more than 50 client firms and approximately $15M+ of annual client contract value. Key functions included devising and driving both overall service strategy and daily operational execution on short- and long-term consulting projects for our clients. This was a high-intensity role serving demanding clients, including asset managers, global pension plans, and alternative investment managersHighlights included growing our total client base 20% to 700+ active users (while reducing user churn by 9%), and achieving contract revenue growth by 25% through account management growth, new business acquisition, and cross-selling of new product and service lines. The most satisfying element of this role was in helping my direct reports to grow personally and professionally - and I have my personal success stories of colleagues who have been promoted within the organization, gone to graduate school, or taken new roles outside of the company.

Based in Chicago, I worked directly with clients throughout the Midwest (primarily Chicago, Minneapolis, St. Louis, and others), and partnered directly with Marketing, Account Management, and New Business Sales teams to grow a book of business from approximately $3M to $5M. I spent 30% of my time on the road to meet with our top users, find and onboard new users at existing accounts, and pitch and secure new business at prospective accounts. I also led a small team of 5 professionals in GLG's Austin, Texas office.

The role included executing on client requests for access to individual expertise, recruiting prospective experts to join the GLG network, and pitching / delivering additional services, including surveys and custom projects.
