I had been granted the honor of mentoring a magnificent, intelligent, and respectful young man through the Denver Urban Scholars program. Denver Urban Scholars partners with high poverty, high performing schools to unlock the potential of students facing added challenges by creating individual pathways to career and college. We mentors utilize DUS as a conduit to provide our youth an opportunity to partner with one of us to assist with all the bumps life will put you through. Whether its just having someone to talk to, tutoring, or simply having a friend, we mentors do whatever is possible and within our control to propel our future generations journey to success. Many of today's urban youth are plagued by outside environmental vices that can circumvent and bypass the tracks we lay to success and the DUS program has proven that mentoring can provide a multitude of virtues to counter such vices and thus, maximize the potential our urban youth population exemplify each and every day. I am honored to be mentoring my first student and plan to mentor many more in my time here in Denver, Colorado!

Through the Enabled Vet program, a 13 week healthcare internship that provides hands-on training in information systems and builds IT careers for transitioning military veterans, I became certified in the EpicCare Ambulatory module.
