Offices in Houston, Austin, Tokyo and London. • As Chief Legal Officer managed department of two other lawyers and headed Company Compliance program. Negotiated over 100 licensing agreements with Japanese and US entertainment companies including Mitsubishi, Pioneer, Bandai, Dentsu, TBS, Kodansha, Toei, Tribune and the Jim Henson Company. Negotiated sub-licensing agreements with major US and European entertainment companies including Cartoon Network, Sci Fi Channel, Showtime & Encore in the US and Sky1 TV (UK) and Canal + in France. Negotiated and prepared film development, co-venture and employment contracts. • Managed accounting, finance, budgets and audit. Annual revenue growth of $10m to $65m from 2000-2005. Divisions included: ADV Films (home video), Newtype USA (monthly magazine), ADV Manga (graphic novels), ADV Toys (toys and merchandise), and Anime Network (cable television network). • Managed the VP of sales and marketing and staff of 22. Developed and maintained direct relationships with major video retailers including Best Buy, Musicland, Transworld, AAFES, Virgin, GameStop, WalMart, Target, Blockbuster, Hot Topic and others.• Expanded company to be the fourth largest US DVD producer releasing 373 new DVD’s per year behind MGM, Warner and Columbia-Tristar. Responsible for the purchase, warehousing, and shipping of 3.5-4 million DVDs per year and the implementation of procedures to guarantee on-time delivery to national retailers. • Executive Producer – “Lady Death,” 72 minute feature film released on home video in 2004.• AD Vision entered into a strategic partnership with Japanese Conglomerate Sojitz Corporation (2768:JP) in 2006 resulting in a management change for all companies.
