Lead Engineer for the company’s next generation high frequency vibration monitoring equipment. The equipment is used for monitoring of spaceflight systems components and cargo during transport to launch sites. Responsibilities included overall system design, component selection, schematic design, PCB layout, firmware authoring, hardware validation, test procedures, schedule as well as documentation and release procedures.

Responsible for circuit Schematic capture, design and fabrication of PCB’s, assembly and verification of prototypes, authoring and test of firmware, and preparation of documentation for final production. Design for manufacture of electronic products to meet customer’s target application(s). Pre design tasks include writing product requirement specifications, generation of proposals and contracts.Developed relationships with key distributors and joined Digi-Key’s Design service provider program as well as becoming a registered design consultant for Cypress semiconductor. Formed and managed agile development team responsible for the creation of proprietary Flash-based content management system. Performed translation of system architectural documents into requirement specifications in order to maintain scope and project schedules. I made extensive use of Microsoft Project and Visio applications to keep projects on budget and schedule. Performed technical due diligence on many proposed IP acquisitions by company.

Responsibilities included the design of schematics, printed circuit boards and authoring of micro controller firmware. I directly interfaced with OEM clients in order to facilitate quick turn specifications and development of prototypes designed for manufacture. Projects included the development of intelligent lighting fixtures using advanced solid state lighting technology and the systems by which they are controlled. Acted as liaison with distributors, manufacturer’s representatives and FAE’s to communicate OEM client’s strategic goals and to determine applicable component technologies for cost-conscious designs thus reducing time to market.
