I hold a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering specializing in Environmental Engineering and Water Resources, but my expertise extends beyond disciplinary boundaries.My professional journey encompasses environmental engineering, public health, and interdisciplinary research. I'm deeply involved in advocating for water conservation within the Black Warrior River and Cahaba River watersheds, utilizing a blend of education, outreach, and activism. My research focuses on diverse water quality issues, spanning stormwater and wastewater management. Recognizing the pervasive impact of climate change, particularly on agricultural regions like the South, I actively contribute to climate policy initiatives at both state and national levels.In addition to my academic pursuits, I've shared my knowledge through teaching environmental science and STEM subjects at various educational levels. By fostering real-world connections and opportunities for learning, I aim to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.Beyond academia, I've engaged in civic activities, including involvement in political campaigns, voter registration initiatives, and advocacy for voter rights restoration.My professional interests lie in environmental justice, equitable policies, citizen lobbying for climate action, participatory research, and educational outreach.
