As head of communications at the Cognizant Foundation — the global philanthropic arm at Cognizant, a Fortune 200 tech company — I built awareness of the organization’s work, investments and impact. Working alongside grantee partners, corporate teams and other industry partners, I developed and implemented communications strategies that positioned the foundation and company as thought leaders in social impact, economic opportunity and workforce development.

As the first communications lead at Campus Labs — a SaaS ed tech company — I developed processes for and managed the execution of all external relations activities. I also established an internal, cross-functional research initiative to utilize longitudinal data and the company's subject matter expertise as a tool for media outreach and building goodwill in targeted industries. Through my work, I successfully positioned the company as an industry leader, securing national, local and trade media coverage of our initiatives, research and client case studies. I also led external and internal communications planning for company acquisitions and mergers.

As senior director of communications at PEBC, I managed all aspects of the organization’s communications, social media and marketing efforts. In this role, I provided counsel to leadership on organization-wide initiatives, budgeting and internal communications, as well as conducted targeted media outreach, securing expert citations, thought leadership placements and feature stories in local and national outlets. I also liaised with members of the Colorado House of Representatives and Senate to support policy initiatives and advocacy efforts and prepared PEBC staff for state Congressional testimony.
