"8 Cigarettes per Day: Diffractive Analysis of Air Pollution in Almaty, Kazakhstan"This paper represents my attempt to apply a diffractive methodology in thinking about complex entanglements of a right to breathe with humans and non-humans in the case of Almaty, Kazakhstan (ranked 2nd in the world ranking of countries with the worst air quality) and how this right is violated across scales, temporalities, and spatialities.
