Construction of 2560 meters quay wall

 Construction of 1000 m Quay WallThe scope of Works includes the following:- Land reclamation to add over 30,000 m2 to the quay wall and stacking area. This includes backfilling of about 30,000 cubic meters of clean sand.- Excavating and constructing 1040 m length of Diaphragm Walls with 0.80-meter thickness and 64 meters depth using hydro-phrase cutters.- Excavating and constructing about 400 barrettes (0.80 m by 2.8 m and about 64 meters deep) using hydraulic grabs.- Constructing the copping beams, girders and deck slabs.- Installation of 100 cell fenders and 50 bollards. Construction of Breakwater:The scope of Works includes the following:- Site preparation and investigation including bathymetric survey.- Supply and installation of 300,000 cubic meters of hard Dolomite rock with a wide range of size from 20 kg to 2000 kg. The breakwater length exceeds 2450 m.- Construction of lean concrete Fascia over the breakwater with a total quantity of 16500 cubic meters.- Protection of the shoreline at the eastern boundary of the base using Dolomite Rocks.

The scope of works includes the following;- Site preparation and investigation including bathymetric survey, soil investigation.- Installing and maintaining an environmental barrier.- Land reclamation to add over 50,000 m2 to the quay wall and stacking area. This includes backfilling of about 1 million cubic meters of clean sand.- Soil improvement for a 15 m thick soft clay layer extended under the project site at about 14 m below the sea level using the Vertical Wick Drains technique, deep compaction for the backfilled sand for up to 17 m depth using the Vibro Compaction technique and finally utilizing the Rapid Impact Compaction technique to ensure the top layers of the whole site is well compacted to the required degree.- Excavating and constructing 630 m length of Diaphragm Walls with 1-meter thickness and 44 meters depth using a hydro-phrase cutter.- Excavating and constructing about 500 barrettes (1 m by 2.5 m and about 44 meters deep) using hydraulic grabs.- Constructing the copping beams, girders and deck slabs.- Installation of 59 cell fenders and 20 bollards.- Dredging to depth (– 17.0 m) for about 760,000 cubic meters.

The Project is widening of an existing Basin and Construction of New Jetty that consists of Piles system. After the Construction of the New Jetty about 900,000 m3 had been dredged from the basin and around the New Jetty. Also, a Shore Protection Works using (300-600) kg Dolomite Stone had been carried out along the Shore Line.Our Main Scope of Work was Shore Protection and Earth Moving Works. Also, I was responsible for Q.S Works, Exporting Invoices and as Built Drawings.

EDECS Main Scope of Work includes all marine works covering the bathymetric survey, offshore soil investigation (marine boreholes), Dredging of more than 500,000 m3 to 14m under the water level, reclamation and backfilling of more than one million cubic meters of clean sand and shore protection works.

EDECS was responsible for the largest volume of revetment of 12km, dry excavation, dumping of nearly 13 million cubic meters in addition to the construction of embankment for sedimentation basins of over 10 million m3.The scope also includes 10 km of the new canal revetments (including slopes trimming & leveling, supply & install geotextile and Rock protection layers of 130 cm thickness) in addition to the construction of 43 reinforced concrete base for mooring bollards.
