Throughout my career, I have led numerous cross-functional teams to optimize the supply chain operations and processes to achieve business growth — leveraging my expertise of over 15 years in the supply chain.I continuously identify areas of improvement and devise strategic process improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain performance. For instance, as the Supply Chain Mgr. at Schlumberger, I engaged counterparts in other locations to replace the fragmented procurement and supplier management processes with a global strategy. For this, I developed a lean, strategic, global procurement and supplier management plan, involving bulk purchasing from common suppliers. This not only resulted in significant cost savings due to higher discounts on bulk purchases but also reduced resources required to manage a large number of suppliers, thus optimizing the procurement and supplier processes across different units of the company.Moreover, I implement a proactive risk identification and mitigation approach to ensure zero disruptions in supply chain processes despite changing market dynamics. For this, I analyze and factor global market dynamics, such as competitor analyses, trends, regulatory and policy changes, political environment, shipping costs, and freight structures, while developing the supply chain strategy — also strategizing mitigation plans for unforeseen risks. For instance, at the same company, I stabilized supply and minimized costs during the pandemic by fostering collaborative and strong relationships with suppliers. Moreover, I led the supplier management teams to renegotiate discounts based on volume and demand forecasts to reduce costs. A key contributor to my success so far has been my ability to develop high-performing teams. When it comes to team development, I implement a 3-pronged approach: 1) I lead by example, coaching and guiding through 1-on-1 and group meetings; 2) I drive a continuous learning environment with knowledge/background diversification, developing the team’s capabilities in cross-functional areas; 3) I foster a culture or proactivity and future-oriented planning, challenging the tendency to focus solely on current operations.
