Transport Engineer at one of Tunisia’s leading engineering firms. Member of the Transportation Engineering and Economics department, I contributed to several transportation projects in Tunisia, Senegal, Chad, DRC and Benin. My responsibilities consist mainly of :• Meeting various stakeholders and collecting data• Organizing traffic campaigns (counts and Origin/Destination (O/D) surveys): preparation, outcomes compilation and analysis.• Investigating the project’s influence area, based on the results of the surveys’ outcomes• Analyzing the national & regional economies (depending on the project).• Evaluating and forecasting the passengers and goods traffic• Evaluating the direct and indirect advantages of the projects.• Analyzing and simulating the economic profitability of the envisioned project’s variants using HDM4, and selecting the optimal one.• Reporting of the results through written reports and presentations

Main responsibilities : • Acting as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, crafts people and operatives.• Agreeing a price for materials, and making cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project.• Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project.• Liaising with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws.• Liaising with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress.

Main responsibilities : • Setting out, levelling and surveying the site.• Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations.• Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications.• Managing, monitoring and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client or architect.• Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labor force and the work of any subcontractors.• Planning the work and efficiently organizing the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines.• Overseeing quality control, health and safety matters on site.• Preparing regular progress reports.• Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.

Two months summer internship through the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience :• Worked in the “Emirates City” project in Ajman and the “Princess Tower” in Marina Dubai.• Checked and supervised different structural components: beams, shear walls and post-tension slabs.• Initiated to the use of the design software: Prokon, Safe and Etabs.• Introduced to the use of the Project Management software Primavera.

- Worked as communication responsible with English as a working language.- Currently involved in the design of the new IAESTE Tunisia Website.- Attended the 60th IAESTE General Conference held in Amman (Jordan) as an Exchange Administrator- Worked on different projects as Project Manager- Participated in the Fundraising activity.

- First Civil Engineering professional experience.- Took part in the supervision of different project compounds, like foundations, piles, superstructure elements and roads.- Familiarized with the use of Civil Engineering project documents: Contracts and different specifications.
