Led and managed GPG programmes in Jordan and other countries remotely from London, with frequent monthly visits to country programmes. The programmes focused on providing tailored support to the parliamentary committees and public departments to improve scrutiny of public policies and citizen engagement as well as strengthening the oversight role of the parliament. Furthermore, the programmes worked on improving government and NGOs interaction with the parliament and providing support to political parties and parliamentary blocs on policy development and more formal and inclusive structure. Key responsibilities:• Provided leadership in all aspects of programme design, implementation and coordination to ensure consistent quality, including the incorporation of cross-cutting themes, lessons learned and best practices• Ensured that operation and financial management systems are responsive to the programme needs• Ensured that a comprehensive reporting schedule is maintained and adhere to according to donor requirements• Established and maintained effective relationships with donors and partners, government institutions, international agencies and local organisations• Organised and managed official Jordanian Parliamentary and Ministerial delegations’ visits to the UK Parliament, Scottish Parliament and Government, National Assembly for Welsh and Welsh Government, Northern Ireland Assembly, Parliament and Government of Morocco, Parliament and Government of Serbia and other countries

Syria

Established and managed the Networking and Communication Department for the NGOs Platform Project in Syria, in partnership with the Syria Trust for Development, and led the networking and communication activities. Role revolved on both designing and implementing the platform's internal and external communication strategy including stakeholders’ relations, planning events & workshops and promoting the platform among Syrian NGOs, government institutions, donors, private sector and international organisations. Key responsibilities:• Established and managed the NGOs platform’s Thematic and Regional working groups (health, education, child and family affairs, disability and environment)• Managed the coordination, flow of information and networking between the platform's organisations, working groups and stakeholders• Organised events and workshops in partnership with government institutions and partners • Produced, wrote and edited press releases, feature articles, activities news and other publications

Established and managed news website and news magazine from ground up. Responsibilities ranged from interviewing and selecting members of team to identifying the website’s and magazine’s identity and layout.Key responsibilities:• Managed and led a team of 8 editors and 15 reporters across Syria• Created editorial policy and stylebook• Set editorial and investigative reports plans and directing editorial team for execution

Worked in coordination with Arabic speaking broadcasters and news platforms covering global and regional news stories to produce political, economic, social, cultural, sport materials on request by providing editorial and logistical support. This included writing news stories, planning satellites booking, providing crewing and facilities on locations, producing suitable graphics, selecting footage to include in broadcasts, translating and reviewing sound bites to ensure smooth composition and flow of the materials.
