The projects also responded to policy developments such as the [Paris] Declaration on Promoting Citizenship, Europe 2020, the European Youth Strategy and current issues such as the European Refugee Crisis, tackling radicalisation and youth extremism. I managed a team of two full time administrative staff, 4-5 project officers at any given time, a pool of 22 external consultants, and an operational budget in excess of 1 million EUR.

I was appointed Inclusion and Diversity Officer for the United Kingdom in September 2015. I was also a member of the Inclusion and Diversity Steering Group for which I contribute UK policy perspectives to meetings held twice a year. Since being appointed to the role, I have worked with other members to improve the structure of the ErasmusPlus programme, to make the programme language more accessible, and to encourage more projects on social inclusion amongst the 33 programme countries.
