He is proficient in Arabic, Hindi, French, Urdu and Bengali. Colleagues describe him as "Khalid worked for me when I led on Migration in West Africa out of the British High Commission in Accra. He did some work to map the various organisations working in the area and this proved really helpful in allowing me to develop a meaningful network. I have kept in touch and followed Khalid's subsequent career and am delighted to see that he has now secured a position in Bangladesh - wishing him well as he embarks and am sure he will shine." and "I have had the privilege of working for as well as with Khalid in his role Senior Project Manager at Ecorys UK. He has proven to be an excellent manager time and time again, combining excellent knowledge of the inner workings of the EU policy-making machine (notably the Commission), a good understanding of civil society development at all levels, a friendly but firm manner in co-ordinating large and complex projects and an amazing ability to communicate across cultures and work styles (a great skill in EU policy work!)."
