Here I have used my extensive experience with device physics and fabrication with a focus on optimising organic field-effect transistors. My research encompassed optical and electrical devices, with a focus on the latter and the minimisation of contact resistance.

I volunteered my time as a representative for physics postgraduates on the Research Committee for the School of Mathematics and Physics. This involved sitting in on monthly meetings consisting of a full board of members across the school and contributing to discussions and reviews regarding school policies. My particular contribution was towards discussions regarding the postgraduates I represent and the policies and guidelines relating to postgraduate admission, research and graduation.

I worked as a lab demonstrator for the PHYS1171 (Physics for the Life Sciences) course. My role involved supervising and instructing students through the experimental component of this course and assisting with the setting up and dismantling of experiments. Through this I have also taught them the physics principles behind these activities, with the note that many of them come from non-science backgrounds.

- Responsible for the logistics of the laboratories, including the cleanroom, as well as maintenance and monitoring of various equipment- Responsible for the General OH&S of the facility, and coordinating the production of Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures for new equipment and processes in the cleanroom as well as induction procedures for the latter- Initiated a nation-wide social networking proposal that has been adopted by the organisation, including the use of LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube as resources for advertising, marketing and information distribution both internally and externally- Trained up on the use of the equipment and processes surrounding photolithography and soft lithography, the responsible officer for the wafer dicing system, various wet etches, plasma etching, atomic force microscopy, various vapour deposition methods- Assisting the other Professional Officers where necessary in the capacity of an all-rounder and technical officer

- Undertook duties as a lab demonstrator and supervisor for first, second and third year Physics Laboratory classes, assisting with the setup and troubleshooting of experiments, reviewing lab manuals and explaining Physics principles during this time- Invigilated for and was involved in marking session exams for Physics students.
