Joining BD, I was assigned to a project to outsource medical pump components from a small manufacturing facility to a specialist supplier. This entailed remediation of the current design to correct ongoing issues, improving component quality, obtaining data on procedures, protocols, systems and managing production processes. Some of the responsibilities of this position were to:Provide expert technical/process engineering guidance and investigation expertise for significant quality events in all areas of the manufacturing process. Facilitate multi-functional problem-solving teams to drive the identification of root cause, and corrective and preventative actions within required time scales. Implementation of change controls for process or equipment changes within Manufacturing, acting as change control owner, co-ordinating the impact assessment, ensuring approvals are in place before implementation to maintain compliance, ensuring completion and closure. Maintaining risk management documents, including Design Transfer Files, Critical Process Parameter documents and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEAs).Investigate and provide technical input into customer complaints, including the generation of reports in liaison with the Quality Department. Work with local and global manufacturing supplier and act as lead engineer for RFQs.Take responsibility for validation of manufacturing processes, including agreeing scope with key stakeholders. Documenting and carrying out this validation to ensure the site processes are maintained and is compliant.Lead and manage the process of technical transfers (including process development, scale up and new product introduction) from DFM to plant implementation. Act as site project manager to ensure that actions are identified and tracked for compliance and delivery in line with agreed overall project plans, updating key stakeholders to ensure visibility of project progress.

 Setup new job requirements include fixtures, cutters, rollers, and CNC program. Ensure mechanical drawing requirements are fit with manufacturing batch book. Amend CNC program to ensure dimensions accuracy and product quality.  Inspection and testing of various parts of manufacturing including products, components, processes, and comparing against standards/specifications. Ensuring safety requirements are met throughout the manufacturing facility. Consulting with vendors globally through every stage of production on site. Project management of NPI programmes and deliver a programme to schedule. Conducting regular machine witnesses and signoff at vendor sites to ensure the specification are being adhered. Developing MP and implementation of new tooling and gauging technologies to improve line efficiency (improve CPK, cycle time, reduce tooling costs, FTT and reduce scrap).
